ASSIGNMENT NAME: CHILD DEVELOPMENT PAPER : The goal of this assignment is to develop critical insights about the impact of poverty on child development. Another goal is to enhance the ability of students to utilize a strength-based conceptual framework when analyzing the interaction between human behavior and the environment. Utilizing resilience theory and systems theory as major analytic tools, students will identify and analyze the risk and protective factors affecting the development of children suffering from poverty. In addition, students will pay attention to the ways in which diversity, power, and oppression affect the development of these children. Guidelines for the Assignment: The length of the paper is between 4 to 6 pages. Select an issue that stems from living in poverty and affects the development of children. Some possible topics include academic performance, physical and or emotional health, and behavioral issues. Review at least five sources in the professional literature. Provide some background information regarding the issue. Present the seriousness of the issue and its consequences.
